About Me

For those who would like to learn a little more about me and my work, I have included information about my formal education on these pages, as well as "my story", a short essay about how I became a scientist.

Like many people, I grew up wanting to go to the Moon and Mars. Instead, I have been very fortunate to study other planets and moons in the Solar System using images and data from spacecraft. So, in a way, I got to go to these places.

Planetary exploration helps us better understand our planet Earth. For the last hundred years our knowledge has been expanded beyond my wildest dreams, and hopefully this will continue in this century. I hope you will decide to learn more about the Solar System, and join me on this great adventure of discovery.
